TODAY we celebrate a dish that has been a favorite of everyone, the Deep Dish Pizza.

This is because the dough is often formed into a high-walled pie dish, and then layered with cheese and toppings before being topped with a thick layer of tomato sauce.

  • 1 pound of pizza dough
  • 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup of tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • Your choice of toppings (such as pepperoni, sausage, onions, peppers, etc.)


  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough into a circle that is roughly 12 inches in diameter.
  3. Grease a 9-inch deep dish pie pan with cooking spray or olive oil.
  4. Place the dough in the prepared pie pan, making sure that the dough is pressed all the way up the sides of the pan.
  5. Add half of the shredded mozzarella cheese to the bottom of the crust.
  6. Add your choice of toppings on top of the cheese.
  7. Add the remaining shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the toppings.
  8. Pour the tomato sauce on top of the cheese, making sure to spread it evenly.
  9. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and dried oregano on top of the sauce.
  10. Bake the pizza for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
