Today we also celebrate a one-pot meal, and a favorite on mine, the Spanish Paella. A traditional Spanish dish made with a mixture of meat, seafood, and rice on a delicious sauce. This day is observed annually on March 27th.
Many countries have their own version of paella. Louisiana has jambalaya. Chile has the cazuela. There’s Irish Stew and Pad Thai. But the best paella is from Spain.
During the 20th century, paella’s popularity spread across Spain’s borders. Other cultures set out to make paella, in which the dish is invariably acquired regional influences. Consequently, paella recipes went from being relatively simple to include a wide variety of seafood, meat, sausage, including chorizo, vegetables, and many different seasonings. The most globally popular recipe is seafood paella.
So, today, celebrate this day by making some Spanish paella. There are ample recipes you can find on the internet, pick the one you like and gather all the ingredients and make it for dinner. If I was cooking it, I will pick a seafood paella because I love seafood. Post on social media your creation before devouring it.
